It forms beautiful crystals inside volcanic lava bubbles known as geodes. Due to its beautiful colour, Amethyst is one of the most popular gemstones in the world.
The name amethyst is Greek and means ‘intoxicated’ because the ancient Greeks believed the crystals protected against drunkenness!
