The first written references about the use of the navigation needle by Mediterranean Navigant’s date to 12th century, however, it is possible they were used from earlier times.
This model has Compass Rose in the upper part and an external ring divided into 32 parts, corresponding with the wind´s names or the 32 radial lines called rhumbs (each equivalent to 11.25º).
The compass measures 63mm across and 34mm thick.
Material: Beech and oak wood (naturally waxed and polished) with plastic glass over the magnetic compass.
