Hemisferium Urania Propitia
This Urania Propitia is a stunningly made renaissance-style compendium with a folding gnomon sundial mounted on a compass.
It was designed in honour of Maria Cunitz, one of the first women astronomers. Her book "Urania propitia" which was published in 1650, became very famous and she herself earned the nickname: "she who is closest to the muse of Astronomy ".
Materials: Zamac with brass bath, lacquered on oven, polycarbonate over magnetic compass.
Height: 28mm / Diameter: 84mm / Weight: 280g
Hemisferium products are handmade ornaments with limited functionality, made primarily for decoration purposes. As they are handcrafted there may be small imperfections.
