Hemisferium Nocturlabe Pin
This European Horologium Noctis was made in the mid-17th century and was used to keep time at night. By observing the stars, it was noted that certain boreal constellations rotated around the Pole Star about once per day as if a giant clock hand were keeping time around a celestial sphere of 24 hours.
Attention to detail, historical interest and its beautiful design is brought to life in this dial pin.
This instrument allows you to carry around a fantastic piece of historic science and represents a time of exploration and astronomical wonder.
Non-functional item.
The nocturnal dial pin measures 28mm in length, 20mm across and 1.8mm thick.
