Hemisferium Miniature Horizontal Sundial Pendant Chain (Silver)
This French shell-shaped horizontal dial has been made for use at 50º latitude. The piece is a replica of a dial circa 1800. On the hour scale, the hour lines radiate from the Sun’s face. In the centre, there is a circular hole for the missing gnomon.
The original, made of copper, is at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London.
