A4 Fresnel Lens
A Fresnel Lens is a type compact lens originally developed for use in lighthouses. Our Lenses are spherical, designed to offer a magnification of 3x, with ring shaped segments that focuses light towards the centre of the lens. Towards the edges, there will be a distortion of the image caused by diffraction around the perimeter. All our lenses will produce a sharp image in the centre, albeit not as clear as their spherical glass counterparts.
XLL format (nearly A4), only 0.6 mm thick and 39 g in weight. Magnifies a whole book page twice. Caution: this lens is also a very strong burning-glass that ignites dry wood instantly!
