Assemble your very own telescope with this wonderful model construction kit!
Two lenses connected by a cardboard tube: it’s that simple to build a telescope!
The pre-punched kit contains an objective lens with 225 mm and an eyepiece lens with 35 mm focal length. This produces a magnification of 6.5x. The assembly is simple and takes only 20 minutes. An ideal project for Scout Groups and Schools. The picture is upright, therefore the telescope can be used by day or at night for astronomical observations (e.g. to see moon craters).
In 1609, Galileo Galilei perfected the telescope, which had been invented in Holland a year earlier. He was the first person to aim it at the night sky. His discoveries - craters on the Moon, the phases of Venus, moons around Jupiter - were a scientific sensation at the time and founded a new astronomy that shapes our worldview to this day.
Astromedia has given the classic Galileo telescope a makeover and offers beginners and enthusiasts an easy introduction to astronomy. The finished telescope has a 6.5x magnification with an upright image. This makes it possible to use the telescope for terrestrial observations during daytime and also for astronomical observations at night, e.g. the shadows of lunar craters at half moon and much more.
Great for group and class projects, or as an educational kit for a young, budding explorer or astronomer.
The easy to assemble kit is pre-cut for fast construction and has two precision-made acrylic lenses for 6x magnification and a 35mm focal length.
The kit includes the OptiMedia lenses 1 and 8
Magnification: 6.5x
Construction time: 20 min
Length (fully extended): 23 cm
Suitable for children aged 8 and up, with adult assistance.
