Tamiya - Italeri 1/24 Ford Escort RS1800 Mk. II Lombard RAC Rally (3650)
About the Ford Escort RS1800 MK.II
The ford escort mk. II was launched on the market in 1975. It was a decisive evolution compared to the escort mk I presented at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show. The previous version preserved the high quality mechanics but was completely revised in the design that interpreted the aesthetic and stylistic taste of the 70s. In addition to the more functional versions, there was also an escort sport version characterized by a more aggressive look and markedly sporty interior. Finally, the version rs 1800 with 115 hp twin-shaft engine was also presented, which was the basis for the special version used in the world rally and which obtained significant results. From 1975 to 1979 the ford escort rs 1800 won for five years in a row the prestigious RAC (royal automobile club) rally, the most important rallistic event organized in the UK and important stage of the world rally championship.
As with all Tamiya items, instructions are clear and concise, in order to allow the modeller to build a detailed model with relative ease. These assembly kits require paint and modelling glue sold separately
