World's Simplest Electric Motor
Demonstrate the workings of a DC motor. Electricity runs through the coil of wire, and a magnetic field is formed. The coil pushes away from the ceramic magnet with enough force to turn it all the way around. As the coil turns around, it becomes charged again and gets another push. The supplier's title for this product is The World's Simplest Motor (TM). We think that may be stretching things a bit, e. g. Hero's Engine is a very simple steam engine. So we added in the word electric, but even then, it could be argued that the Homopolar motor is an even simpler electric motor.
